Autumn is coming and we are reluctant to turn our backs on sea water. What about practising our sports routines while still enjoying the sea? Aquagym, aquatic yoga or beginners’ courses for babies and children are the disciplines you can learn about in our quarterly courses. Do you want to improve your strength, tone up but with no impact or improve your breathing control during exercise? We look forward to seeing you!
It is said that when the good things are over ( in this case, the summer) the best things usually are yet to come: the chance to take advantage of the new academic year to pick up good habits, find new challenges or accomplish those we had left behind along the way.
Fresh start, new life!
Autumn is the season for resetting, shedding our skin, sweeping away the dry leaves and starting over with a clean slate. These are somewhat twinned months together with January (for the sake of starting from scratch) but with a big advantage: we head into autumn with a renewed mindset after the summer, after a well-deserved holiday and those extra doses of time for reflection (or reading) that the warmer months provide us with.
So, when your mind is healthy, you know what to do, don’t you? Heal the body, reactivate and pamper it a little so that the Roman equation (and the Romans knew a lot about wellbeing) of ‘mens sana in corpore sano’ is accomplished. You should never give up on feeling good and looking better.
At La Perla we are well aware of this and much more: we refuse to turn our backs on bathing in sea water once the summer is over, which is why the ‘active’ proposals that we are going to present share a common denominator: they all take place in the sea water of our facilities.
Thus, we invite you to discover our quarterly courses within the following disciplines:
*Yoga Mar
*Aquagym
*Aquatic Initiation for babies and children
What do they consist of? What are the benefits of exercising in sea water? Many! This practice benefits from the greater weightlessness of the marine aquatic environment, which translates into:
-Greater floatability and a decrease in the sensation of body weight by more than 50%.
-Muscle toning without damaging joints or bones.
-Improved rehabilitation processes, which make them more effective and less painful.
Let’s go!
Aquagym
Aquagym is the practice of physical exercise (the theoretical basis of the exercises is the same as in our fitness classes) in our multi-purpose sea water swimming pool with a constant temperature of 32°C. What improvements does this entail? Those of doing it in an aquatic environment which, while offering resistance to the muscles, protects them from injury as the movements are less abrupt.
Water workouts improve physical fitness, tone your body without any impact, increase muscular strength and endurance, improve balance and stimulate blood circulation.
In addition, the 45-minute class is complemented by another 45 minutes in the thalassotherapy treatment circuit so that you can continue to enjoy the relaxing benefits of the sea water. You can contact us by email (info@laperla.net) or telephone (943 45 88 56) to find out the conditions and opening hours, whether you want to do it one or two days a week.

Aquatic Yoga
Yoga is experiencing a particularly wonderful moment as many people have discovered the benefits of this ancient practice which, without fatiguing the heart, tones, improves elasticity, breath control and helps the mind to disconnect and relax.
La Perla’s aquatic yoga (we are the only European facility that teaches yoga in a sea water pool) combines all the virtues of the āsanas (postures) of yoga and adds the aforementioned virtues of exercising in a aquatic environment.

Aquatic initiation courses
The aquatic initiation courses for babies (from 4 months old) and children (up to 7 years old) in a sea water pool at 32°C are also being relaunched. These have been designed to take advantage of the many benefits of becoming familiar with the aquatic environment from an early age.
Shall we take a look at some of these advantages?
We are all aware that children learn instinctively and with little effort, skills that will later benefit them in their daily lives. Aquatic initiation favours their psycho-motor development, strengthens their cardio-thoracic system, stimulates their sense of touch, improves their body self-awareness, develops their ability to face difficulties, relaxes them… a whole host of positive factors to which we should add the most important: for them these courses are perceived as a game and they have a lot of fun.
The courses are organised in 30-minute sessions one day a week (Saturday and Sunday mornings only). In addition, while children are learning, those accompanying them can relax in our Thalassotherapy Treatment Circuit.

Is it or is it not an excellent way to start the new academic year? We are looking forward to seeing you at La Perla.
