Cross-Training
A set of functional movements, carried out at a high intensity and in very varied ways. This training method gives you the chance to significantly improve your level of aerobic and anaerobic endurance, strength, muscular endurance, flexibility and agility.
The equipment used in this training is very varied: benches, medicine balls, bars, disks, etc. (the main characteristic here is the weight that is used).
Combo
This is a HIIT training programme (high intensity interval training) based on functional movement exercises.
According to these specifics, exercises are designed using your own body weight or suitable light weights: barbells, discs, kettlebells, medballs… By combining the exercises and, depending on the training format, incorporating a cardiovascular component, it becomes a high-intensity workout.
Burning
A sequence of movements of an athletic nature, intensified by exercises on different surfaces where a multitude of activities can be practised to improve strength, endurance, flexibility and balance or proprioception.
We will also complete the training with movements based on functional strength work.
Funtional
Functional training is a grouping of exercises that entails body training and skills for everyday or sporting activities.
TRX
TRX is suspension training in which each training exercise develops functional strength, while at the same time improving the flexibility, balance and stability of the body’s core.
This training uses your own body weight and it works all muscle groups. You do not need to be physically fit before you start these exercises, as there are versions of exercises designed for all levels.
Body Building
Training that consists of lifting weights, in which routines are used that are divided into lifts or repetitions.
The muscle groups are worked separately: chest, back, arms, legs…and the higher the weight you are lifting, the higher the intensity, moving you closer to your goal of increasing muscular strength and endurance.
Core
The core class is a training session that is a must for both athletes and more sedentary people. The core is an area that covers the entire abdominal region and the lower back. It comprises the oblique muscles, rectus abdominis, pelvic floor, diaphragm, multifidus and the most important muscle of all: the transverse abdominal muscle.
It is a bit like a corset around our body which, among other things, protects our organs. Good core muscles act as a shield and frame around the internal organs, which is essential for this area that is unprotected due its lack of bone structure.
BSL
B.S.L. stands for Buttocks, Stomach and Legs. These classes are designed to tone these parts of your body. It is a set of exercises aimed at strengthening and toning these parts of the body, which are the ones most usually affected by a sedentary lifestyle. Music is used as to provide support and motivation, to make the classes more dynamic and fun.
The benefits of BSL include helping to fight cellulitis and muscular imbalance in the hips by strengthening the buttocks.
Additionally, strengthening the abdominal area helps to create a sort of support band around the stomach, which improves back problems and protects internal organs.
Strengthening the legs is also essential for the stability of the body, especially for people who lead a sedentary lifestyle due to their work or studies.
Globalfit
These instructor-led toning classes are generally used as tools that help to increase the intensity of exercises and they often involve loads and resistance.
By toning the muscles, body fat and weight are reduced. A physique with a lower body weight means better overall health as it benefits the heart, joints and skeletal system. If you have a toned body, you will have higher endurance, energy and flexibility and you may also reduce the risk of developing certain diseases such as diabetes and heart disease.
Muscle toning exercises can also improve your mental health, especially when combined with cardio and strength exercises. Studies have shown that people who regularly do exercise have more energy, lower stress levels, more confidence in themselves and higher self-esteem.
SGA
Global Active Stretching is the application of R.P.G.® in physical exercise and sport (both amateur and competitive). Based on the development of self-postures, this tool is effective at improving muscle performance and preventing injuries. It is the most effective self-stretching method for fitness training and is recommended after undergoing treatment.
Issues such as blocked airways, muscle contracture and stiffening, excess muscle building, recurring injuries, tendinitis, analytic and abdominal stretching are something that SGA® can help fix.
People of all ages can use it, from 7 to 90.
Pilates
Pilates is a physical and mental training system based on different specialities of gymnastics, combining muscular dynamism and strength along with mental control, breathing and relaxation.
It was originally called “contrology” as it is essentially based on the use of the mind to control the body, but seeking balance and harmony between the two. As the method is focused on the development of the internal muscles to maintain body balance and provide stability and firmness to the backbone, it is widely used as a therapy in rehabilitation.
Yoga
Yoga is a discipline that connects the body, breath and mind using physical postures, breathing exercises and meditation to improve overall health.
- Reduces anxiety and stress
- Improves sleep quality thus helping you to sleep better
- Strengthens bones and muscles
- Increases flexibility
Teaches you to breathe not only correctly but consciously.
Zumba
This uses the most common Latin dance styles in its routines, e.g. salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggaeton and samba, although nowadays choreographies from all kinds of musical styles are combined.
Zumba has numerous benefits for our body. Above all, these include weight loss by burning off calories and improving your physical condition and muscle tone.
A fun class in which you also release endorphins and reduce stress.
For Friday afternoon, MasterClass!
And after an intense week of training, on Friday afternoons we offer a Masterclass, a class in which we alternate weekly between countless different types of classes, such as fit ball, pilates, dance, step exercises, etc.
La Perla’s indoor cycling
La Perla’s indoor cycling classes are another story altogether. This is why we have designed our own class methods, La Perla Cycling.
To start with, in our facilities you can use the best machine for this type of class: the Keiser M3. A bike that allows you to control countless parameters, such as resistance, pedal power, revolutions per minute, etc.
All classes are assisted by a computer program that allows you to see, in real time (online), the stage profile and the current class situation on a huge screen.
And, to top it all off, we have the most modern heart rate monitoring telemetry system available on the market, by POLAR. This system allows us to monitor the heart rates of all of the students currently in the class in real time (online) and fully customise their training, despite being in a group session of this kind.
